Job Title:		Community Coordinator, mediabistro
Location:		New York, NY

		mediabistro.com is seeking a Community Coordinator. Reporting to the Membership Director, this entry-level position is the perfect launching pad for someone who is passionate about a career in media and wants to take a lead role in further developing our community of media professionals. The role has two main components: 1. Serving as the face of mediabistro.com to our customers, providing world-class service to our current users and potential new members, managing their day-to-day needs and exceeding their expectations; 2. Making long-term improvements to the site that enhance the user experience and reduce the volume of complaints.

Responsibilities:		Connect with mediabistro.com users through multiple media channels (email, phone, Twitter, blogging, GetSatisfaction) to ensure a helpful experience with the site Answer questions and address member issues with compassion, patience and a sense of urgency to help them solve their issues as quickly as possible Identify areas and tasks on the site that confuse users, and help members solve their problems Edit monthly newsletters to members; maintain @avantguild Twitter feed Research new product opportunities that will help increase departmental revenues and audience engagement, including social-media and community-building tools Serve as advocate for the interests of the mediabistro.com community

Qualifications:		0-2 years professional experience Ability to demonstrate world-class customer service, superior problem-solving skills, and an appreciation of positive user experience Ability to recognize problems and proactively come up with solutions Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong computer skills, especially Excel, Access and HTML Experience with Dreamweaver or other HTML-editing software a plus Prior media-industry experience a plus, but above all you must demonstrate a passion for media, especially its intersection with technology and client service
