Job Title:		Senior Web Developer, mediabistro
Location:		New York, NY

		mediabistro.com is seeking a talented Senior Web Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong skills in architecting application code and database backends and is proficient in UI design. The individual is detail-oriented and passionate about clean and modular code/design. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in researching and developing backends of new social web features and other emerging trends. This position is very hands-on and involved in the full-development life cycle of projects. A plus if the programmer is familiar with social web APIs (i.e. Twitter, Facebook), semantic web technology and/or has an entrepreneurial streak.

Responsibilities:		Architect, build, unit test, and maintain custom content management systems and new features to enhance mediabistro.com Translate business requirements into technical specs and code R&D; and evaluation of new web technologies and APIs Identify, troubleshoot, and optimize application code-related and database issues Participate in code design reviews and code refactoring Maintain and support existing ASP and PHP applications

Qualifications:		At least 4 years online experience doing web development Proficient with one or more programming languages such as PHP, ASP.NET (C#), Classic ASP, or Java Solid understanding and experience with OOP concepts and design patterns Ability to write clean and reusable code Strong experience with HTML, Javascript, AJAX, XML Experience with one or more databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), Stored Procedures, Views, and SQL queries Strong attention to detail Ability to achieve results through teamwork and collaboration Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills Computer Science degree a plus, but not required Plus if you have experience with MVC framework and jQuery
