Job Title:		Web Developer, mediabistro.com

		mediabistro.com is seeking a talented Web Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong skills in architecting application code and database backends and is proficient in UI design. The individual is detail-oriented and passionate about clean and modular code/design and can deliver high quality software in an agile environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in researching and developing backends of new social web features and other emerging trends. This position is very hands-on and involved in the full-development life cycle of projects.

Responsibilities:		Architect, build, unit test, and maintain custom content management systems and new features to enhance our social media websites Translate business requirements into technical specs, code, and documentation R&D; and evaluation of new web technologies and APIs Identify, troubleshoot, and optimize application code-related and database issues Propose innovative technical solutions and participate in code architecture Participate in code design reviews and code refactoring Maintain and support existing applications

Qualifications:		1-2 or more years experience in web development Proficient with one or more objected-oriented programming languages such as object-oriented PHP, ASP.NET (C#/VB.NET), Java, or C++ Strong experience with OOP concepts and design patterns Ability to write clean and reusable code Strong experience with one or more databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), Stored Procedures, Views, and SQL queries Strong experience with HTML, Javascript, AJAX, XML Strong attention to detail Ability to achieve results through teamwork and collaboration Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills Bachelors degree in Computer Science required

Pluses:		Prior experience as a developer in an online web company Experience with social web APIs (i.e. Twitter, Facebook) or semantic web technology
