MECKLERMEDIA, "THE INTERNET MEDIA COMPANY," ACQUIRES 17th WEB SITE: JAVASCRIPTSOURCE.COM ADDED TO INTERNET.COM
(WESTPORT, CT-July 30, 1998) - Mecklermedia, "The Internet Media Company" (Nasdaq: MECK) today announced its 17th Web site acquisition for its Internet.com network of sites. The Company purchased JavaScript Source, an online library of JavaScript programs. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

"This site adds to Internet.com's outstanding collection of tools for Web developers and increases Internet.com's market-leading reach in the category," Elwell added. Other Internet.com sites serving Web developers include JavaBoutique, WebDeveloper.com, WebReference, and Web Developer's Virtual Library.
JavaScript Source was created by Ronnie T. Moore, who will join Internet.com's team to manage the site. JavaScript Source currently receives approximately 1 million page views per month. Mecklermedia began acquiring sites in 1995 (see chronology of acquisitions below). "We realized several years ago that talented people had created sites with commercial potential, but that most of them did not have the resources to capitalize on the opportunity," said Alan M. "We began buying Internet-related content sites in 1995 that appealed to the audience which we serve with our Internet World shows and weekly print publication.

Internet.com sites currently serve approximately 17 million pages to 1 million unique visitors monthly. "Mecklermedia will continue to acquire Web sites that fit with the Internet.com model and support the Company's other properties," Meckler said.
