MECKLERMEDIA, "THE INTERNET MEDIA COMPANY'S," INTERNET.COM SIGNS E-COMMERCE AGREEMENT WITH THE CAREERBUILDER NETWORK

(WESTPORT, CT -August 11, 1998)-Mecklermedia, "The Internet Media Company's" (Nasdaq: MECK) Internet.com network of Web sites announced that it has signed an e-commerce agreement with CareerBuilder Inc., to offer a job center for Internet professionals through the CareerBuilder Network. The service can be accessed online at http://jobs.internet.com.

Under terms of the agreement, Internet.com will provide a value-added service to its online community of job-seeking Internet professionals and candidate-seeking recruiters, driving traffic to jobs.internet.com. CareerBuilder will operate the site and market it to job seekers and recruiters. Internet.com has the rights to sell advertising on sections of the site.
