MECKLERMEDIA, "THE INTERNET MEDIA COMPANY," ACQUIRES AWARD-WINNING CYBERATLAS.COM WEB SITE

(WESTPORT, CT -August 24, 1998) - Mecklermedia, "The Internet Media Company" (Nasdaq: MECK) made its 18th Web Site acquisition when it purchased CyberAtlas.com from Internet Profiles Corporation (I/Pro) last week. Terms were not disclosed.

CyberAtlas.com, which will be added to Mecklermedia's Internet.com network of Web sites, compiles and analyzes research about the Internet and information technologies. Features include market reports on Web demographics, e-commerce, advertising, browsers, modems and servers. "CyberAtlas.com is used principally by Web marketers and Internet industry professionals to support business decisions," reports Alan M. Meckler, chairman and CEO, Mecklermedia Corporation.

Since its inception in 1996, CyberAtlas.com has amassed numerous awards including being named as one of PC Magazine's 1998 Top 100 Web Sites. Also noteworthy, major Internet surveys such as the GVU study cite CyberAtlas.com as THE place to begin online research.
