PERLHOO FEATURED ON INTERNET.COM'S WEBREFERENCE WEB SITE

(Westport, CT-May 13, 1999) - Mother of Perl , a bi-weekly feature of internet.com LLC's WebReference.com Web site, is offering a tutorial on Perlhoo, the industry's latest application that enables developers to create Yahoo-like (Nasdaq:YHOO) Web catalogs with minimal effort.

PerlHoo currently runs on any operating system capable of running Perl including most versions of Unix and NT. Future versions will include Web based administration tools and import filters for data from the Open Directory Project (ODP). Owned by Netscape, the ODP is a volunteer-run Web catalog whose data is used by sites such as Lycos (Nasdaq: LCOS) and Netscape Netcenter. Perlhoo is an Open Source application that allows programmers on the Internet to read, redistribute, and modify the source code for a specific piece of software.

"Web catalogs like Yahoo have been very successful on the Web because they're easy to use," said Jonathan Eisenzopf, author of Mother of Perl. "But many Web sites have avoided using catalogs because of their prohibitive cost, lack of availability or their unnecessary complexity. The benefits of Perlhoo are that its free and easy to configure, two important factors for many Webmasters."

For more information on PerlHoo visit Mother of Perl and Webreference.com.
