INTERNET.COM TO ACQUIRE LINUXNEWBIE.ORG, ENHANCING ITS POSITION AS THE LEADING DESTINATION FOR LINUX CONTENT

(New York, NY-February 1, 2000)--internet.com (Nasdaq: INTM), the E-Business and Internet Technology Network, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Linuxnewbie.org. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2000. Additional terms were not disclosed.

LinuxNewbie.org is a leading online resource providing news, analysis, tutorials and discussion forums for beginning Linux users. internet.com will incorporate the site into its recently developed Linux/Open Source Channel and will closely integrate it with JustLinux.com, LinuxStart.com, LinuxCentral.com, LinuxPlanet.com and LinuxToday.com.

"Linuxnewbie.org complements our wealth of Linux content areas and brands, and bolsters our position in this market. By providing resources for both the new and seasoned Linux professional, internet.com has now built the leading destination on the Web for Linux content, commerce and community services," said internet.com chairman and CEO Alan M.
