INTERNET.COM LAUNCHES SILICONVALLEY.INTERNET.COM

(NEW YORK, NY--April 18, 2000)--internet.com (Nasdaq: INTM), the Internet Industry Portal, today launched a new bureau to cover the thriving Internet and Internet venture capital activities in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. The site is available at siliconvalley.internet.com (http://siliconvalley.internet.com) and sv.internet.com (http://sv.internet.com). The site launch is sponsored by InReach Internet (http://www.inreach.com).

"We've experienced tremendous success integrating our Internet news properties throughout selective regions of the U.S. and we are now delighted to extend our news and information resources to Silicon Valley's Internet scene. This will be the area's first in-depth, online publication exclusively focused on the local Internet industry," said internet.com chairman and CEO Alan M. Meckler.

The site will be under the direction of managing editor David Needle, a well-known figure in the San Francisco Bay Area high tech journalism scene. Needle has been covering high tech in Silicon Valley since 1983 for such publications as Infoworld, Byte, Computer Currents, PC World, Forbes ASAP and Upside. He was recently the West Coast Bureau Chief for InformationWeek.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to launch and grow siliconvalley.internet.com," said Needle. "Bay Area computer professionals and business leaders are drowning in technology news from a multitude of sources. We will provide a targeted source of informed reporting about the Internet as it applies to and effects the Bay Area, including the important news of the day, insightful commentary, analysis, movers and shakers, and others."

The availability of internet.com's regional Internet news content in Silicon Valley is the latest in a series of regional expansion initiatives including recent launches in Boston (http://boston.internet.com), Washington D.C. (http://dc.internet.com) and internet.com's pre-existing atNewYork.com site (http://atnewyork.com) serving the Internet scene in New York's Silicon Alley. internet.com also announced plans to roll out several other bureaus in coming months.
