JUPITER RESEARCH REPORTS THAT 57% OF BUSINESSES CURRENTLY SUPPORT 802.11 WI-FI NETWORKS AND THAT AN ADDITIONAL 22% WILL IMPLEMENT BY 2004

(New York, NY - March 17, 2003) - Jupiter Research, a division of Jupitermedia Corporation (Nasdaq: JUPM), today announced that 57% of U.S. companies already support 802.11 networks, with an additional 22% planning to implement and support this technology in the next 12 months. According to Jupiter Research's new report "Wi-Fi Deployments: Are Enterprises Ready Despite Evolving Standards?", small businesses (with less than $10 million in annual revenue) are leading deployment, with 83% stating that they either support 802.11 networks today or plan to in the next 12 months. By contrast, 71% of U.S. large businesses (defined as those generating $100 million or more in annual revenue) are supporting 802.11 networks or will do so in the next 12 months.

"Nearly half (49%) of all U.S. businesses have fewer than 20% of their employees connected. Small and medium sized businesses in particular are much more likely to have their employees connected via an 802.11 network," observed Jupiter Research Senior Analyst, Julie Ask. "This demonstrates that consumer and small office / home office (SOHO) markets have really driven deployments to date. That's changing, though, as larger enterprises will drive growth later this year once security issues are resolved, which in turn presents new opportunities to vendors in this space," Ask continued.

Jupiter Research's new 802.11 Mobility service helps vendors understand adoption patterns of new wireless platforms to maximize the revenue opportunities. It also helps end users to effectively deploy 802.11 technology, lower adoption costs and total cost of ownership (TCO), and avoid mistakes that lead to higher costs, security breaches and other pitfalls.

"The launch of our new 802.11 Mobility research service, along with our daily editorial coverage of this new technology on 802.11-Planet.com and our world tour of our 802.11 Planet trade shows demonstrates how Jupitermedia is the leading provider of information about this booming new technology," stated Alan M. Meckler, Chairman and CEO of Jupitermedia.
