INTERNET.COM VENTURE FUND I ANNOUNCES INVESTMENT IN MDLINX.COM

(WESTPORT, CT - August 12, 1999) - internet.com Venture Fund I LLC today announced an investment in MDLinx.com, Inc., an early-stage network of Web sites tailored to specific medical practice areas. The investment is part of internet.com Venture Fund I's ongoing effort to expand its interests to other professional online communities.

Founded by clinical physicians, MDLinx.com will offer current medical news in specific practice areas, where physicians can quickly and accurately search the Web for medical information in one location. The first two specialty sites are currently available--MDLinx.com (http://www.mdlinx.com) for doctors of internal medicine and HeartLinx.com (http://www.heartlinx.com) for cardiologists. Ultimately, MDLinx.com plans to aggregate links to the latest information in the most respected medical sources available including the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association.

"We believe MDLinx.com, once fully developed, will be the most comprehensive source for medical professionals on the Web. Its comprehensive content includes in-depth coverage of thousands of medical topics that are essential to health care professionals," said internet.com Chairman and CEO Alan M. Meckler. "We are thrilled to make this investment for our fund and we look forward to developing MDLinx.com as a leading medical resource on the Internet."

"This relationship will greatly expedite our implementation of new vertical sites and features," said MDLinx.com, Inc. CEO David Rothenberg. "Additionally, our practice-specific Web sites, e-mail newsletters, and focused discussion lists will provide an unprecedented opportunity for healthcare companies to advertise directly to physicians, their most important audience."

internet.com Venture Fund I was formed to invest in early-stage online content providers serving targeted business-to-business markets that follow the strategy of, but are not competitive to, internet.com. internet.com is one of the fund's investors and is the portfolio manager.

internet.com (Nasdaq: INTM), the E-business and Internet Technology Network, includes 65 Web sites, 45 e-mail newsletters, 55 online discussion forums, and 52 moderated e-mail discussion lists for Internet industry and Internet technology professionals, Web developers and experienced Internet users.
