INTERNET.COM LAUNCHES CHINA.INTERNET.COM AND ANNOUNCES FUTURE LAUNCH OF JAPAN.INTERNET.COM

(WESTPORT, CT - August 31, 1999) - internet.com (Nasdaq: INTM), The E-Business and Internet Technology Network, today announced the launch of china.internet.com through an agreement with China's third largest Internet portal - Netease.com. internet.com will also launch japan.internet.com later this month with Japan-based Communication Online, Inc.

Both sites will feature original local content as well as content from the North American edition of the internet.com Network. The sites will be in the Chinese and Japanese languages, respectively.
